| Description | Andre was born in Niteroi, Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. He began martial arts at an early age, attending daily muay thai and jiu jitsu classes. inspired by the Jiu Jitsu X Luta Livre challenge in the early 1990, Andre also became interested in mma where the Carlson Gracie team led by Grandmaster Carlson Gracie Sr became his main reference, during that period he built a solid career as a fighter in jiu jitsu and muaythai. His most important titles are; state of Rio De Janeiro muay thai champion and brazilian grappling champion. In 2006, Andre moved to the US and shortly thereafter was invited to join Master Carlson Gracie Jr. Academy, to compete and teach muaythai and jiu jitsu. 2010 Andre received his black belt from Master Carlson Gracie Jr. the greatest honor in his athletic career. Nowadays is one of the official instructors of Carlson Gracie headquarters in Chicago, USA at Master Carlson Gracie Jr Academy, where he teaches BJJ and also is responsible for running the muaythai program. Andre constantly travels to Thailand in search of significantly increasing his muaythai knowledge not only as a fight sport but also as an art and culture. After these 28 years of experience Andre's biggest goal is to propagate the traditional muaythai and original Carlson Gracie Jiu Jitsu. |
